Patty is admitted as a member of the bars of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (1994) and of the State of New Jersey (2007). She received her B.A., cum laude, from Harvard University (1986) and her J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School (1994).
She practices primarily in the areas of labor and employment law and U.S. employment-based immigration law. She advises management clients on all aspects of labor and employment law, and she also represents clients before state and federal agencies, including the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, Massachusetts Office of Attorney General, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the National Labor Relations Board, and in Massachusetts and federal courts.
The majority of her practice involves counseling HR staff on labor and employment law compliance issues (wage and hour, ADA, FMLA, state leave laws, EEO/AA, data security); employment applications, policies and procedures; discipline, termination and layoff decisions; leaves of absences, immigration issues and internal investigations. In addition, she provides advice, counsel, drafting and enforcement of employment contracts.
Ms. Granger is co-author of "Pregnancy Discrimination: A Defense Perspective" in MCLE's Massachusetts Employment Law Manual. She is a member of the Labor and Employment section of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
Before establishing her own practice, Patty was a partner with the Boston law firm of Masterman, Culbert & Tully LLP. Prior to passing the bar in 1994, she was a human resources manager with several organizations.
